From the moment the Holy Spirit fell at Pentecost the Church became a multiplying band of fire-filled believers!
'And the word of God increased; and the number of disciples multiplied greatly!'
[Acts 6:7]

SMALL 'CELLS' SPREAD THE FIRE
Cell Groups in the Jesus Fellowship

Today God is anointing small groups of men and women to move in holy power, drawing others into their number. The flame of the Jesus Movement will spread throughout the land largely through these house or home meetings.

The 'Cell' principle

God makes increase by multiplication! We learn from science that a living cell grows in size and then divides to form two cells, which then grow and divide again. This pattern of 'body growth' from many small cells is also God's way of growth for the spiritual 'new creation'! The body grows when "every member is working properly."[Eph 4:16]

The Jesus Fellowship has around 300 'cell groups'.

Who belongs to a Cell Group?

Adult members and children of the Jesus Fellowship make up the 'core members' of Servant Groups. There are around four adult 'core' members in each Group. Each Group also includes 'new friends'. These may be visitors staying in our community houses or people we have met and invited along. All are welcome!

When and where do they meet?

Cell Groups meet on Wednesday evenings, and may have activities at other times. Some Cell Groups meet in Jesus Fellowship homes, or homes of members, and invite friends along. Others meet in friends homes up and down the country -- one could meet in your home if you'd like it to!

Go anywhere

Jesus said "Go!" And so Cell Groups go wherever people are hungry for the gospel: on the streets, in the parks, on the beaches, in pubs and clubs, in bedsits, flats and houses. So many people are looking for love and friendship. Cell Groups are a key part of the network of faith and friendship of the Jesus Movement. In towns and cities throughout the UK these Groups are active supporting present church households, new church plantings, or following the vision they have been given. And there are always new places for the 'go-anywhere daredevil' groups!

What do they do?

Cell Groups are action groups! Groups spend some time worshipping and praying, often together with testimonies, the use of the gifts of the Spirit, sharing of encouragements and a brief gospel word or teaching. Praying for one another's specific needs is important. God uses Cell Groups to bring salvation, baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing of soul and body, deliverance and anointings to many people.

Faith-filled and visionary!

The Jesus Fellowship has vision to grow and grow! The Cell Group target is for many more hundreds of Groups. Each Cell Group gains new members, bringing them into commitment to Jesus and the church. Cell Groups are an excellent training ground for new leaders!

To reach our church targets we are expecting each Cell Group to increase by at least two new members each year. Fruitful Cells are a testimony to vision and faith. When the members pray, agreeing together to see Jesus saving precious souls, things happen!

Each Cell Group is part of a 'cluster' of several Cell Groups. Together, they claim an area, a town, or part of a city, "for Jesus".

Fires of revival

Groups meeting in houses are a feature of revival. And the Holy Spirit is saying that we are seeing a return of the house church movement. The flame of the Jesus Movement is burning in the hearts of an increasing number of Christians. They are giving their homes to Jesus and inviting friends and neighbours to join them. We believe that the UK will be dotted with hundreds of thousands of house 'cell' groups in the coming years.
