A free image and photo editing software with a friendly and intuitive user interface, for computers that run Windows. Support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.
Irfanview
Fast freeware image viewer/converter that can read 70+ graphics and multimedia file formats. Only downside is the roadkill icon. Also: Add-on right-click menu shell extension for IrfanView from BAxBEx.
XNview
Cross-platform image viewer available in many languages, similar to Irfanview but with a better icon. And it supports more than 360 file formats.
