“Oh my God!" You hear it everywhere. On the bus. At the park. In the playground. At the shops. And now "OMG!" is the instant messaging shorthand for the same outburst.

But who is "my God"? Which God?

In a documentary released last year in America, director Peter Rodger travelled around the world, posing the question: "What is God?" to people from different places and faiths.

The responses ranged from confident "I don't believe in God" to confused "If you put Buddha, Jesus Christ, Socrates, Shakespeare, and Krishna at a dinner table together, I can't see them having any argument!"

Theories, debates, questions and discussions about God never end.

But what if, once upon a time, God turned up in person?

Well, He did - that person is Jesus Christ.

When we look at Jesus, we see what God is like. Jesus said "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father". He shows just how committed God is to rescuing us. His sacrificial, non-violent, willing death shows the lengths God will go to, to soak up evil. His resurrection shows that death itself is no match for God.
