INFORMATION OVERLOAD
American President Barack Obama recently raised eyebrows by appearing to criticise the new Apple iPad.
He said that gadgets like the iPad provided people with too much information of uncertain quality and that this was a "distraction". President Obama went on to say it was virtually impossible to tell which information was worthwhile and solid - and what was just noise and chatter.
It seems like finding peace in our 24/7 media age can be a real challenge. And how can we hope to find true direction when the babble of voices pulls us in so many different directions?
For those who know Him, Jesus Christ promises peace. He said to his followers "the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give."
When you tune in to Jesus he chills you out far better than slumping in front of a TV screen. He brings deep, strong peace inside us.
You can't buy it, you can't download it off the net - it's a spiritual thing.
And that's not all. Those who know Jesus hear his voice. It's an inner thing. God speaks to the hearts of believers and says "Here I am. I love you. Follow me." In a busy, distracting life, the "still, small voice" of God can bring calm, comfort and sure guidance.
