WE PANIC about being late for work, stress about growing older, even worry about why there is never enough time.

It’s like the addictive quiz show, Countdown. The rules are simple: get the best answers in 30 seconds or lose the game. It’s addictive because it reflects real life. So much to do and no time to do it! Life quickly becomes a great contest to beat the clock.

Are we slaves to time? Whether you’re waiting in a shopping queue, rushing back to your car before the traffic warden gets there, or desperately trying to finish an exam with seconds to spare, the constant countdown dominates our lives.

Even the universe doesn’t escape: some scientists reckon that the cosmos will run out of time! They speculate that time itself will get slower, until everything finally stops. Suddenly everything will be frozen in motion. Time itself will have run out of time.

Meanwhile life ticks by, second by second.

Lifestyle gurus will tell you you’ve got one life, just enjoy it – what they won’t say is that you’ve really only got one chance to get it right.

Wouldn’t it be great if we were able to reverse time? To go back and correct our mistakes? Most of us would love a second chance. But who is there to start the clocks again? Who can help us change our lives and give our lives a new beginning?
