TWO members of a Jesus Army
team were serving food from the
back of their bus surrounded by
London’s manic nightlife.
A rickshaw pulled up
alongside the back door.
The rider was offered some
choc-coated raisins, which he
accepted before whizzing off
into the night.
He quickly came back,
obviously having enjoyed
them. They offered him
a free bowl of them if he
would give them a free
ride in his vehicle...
Off they sped into the
London sunset, talking
to him about God, and
shouting about ‘Jesus
revolution’ to passers-by.
It turned out that this
rickshaw rider was a bit
of a searcher: ‘I love God if
He’s there!’
He drove them about,
ringing his bell, and shouting,
“These Christian
girls will tell you about
Jesus”.
They were as good as his
word, calling out, “Jesus
loves you, this we know,
for the Bible tells us so!”
IN A JAM
Stuck in a traffic jam,
some Jesus Army members
started singing out of the
window to drivers of other
vehicles: old-time gospel
songs like “I’ve got a home in
Glory Land” and “This little
light of mine”.
“What’s yer name mate?”
The answered question was
followed by a rendition of
‘Brother – or sister – (whoever),
you’ve got a place in
our hearts’!
Some didn’t know quite
what to make of it, but most
faces were shining as people
had the unusual experience
of being sung to – in a traffic
jam.
Mary, Kirsty, Tracy, Darren,
Letty, Kerry, Dean,
Joseph, Matt, Bob, Amanda,
Jethro, Elisabeth, Oliver,
Ashley and Joseph all got
their own personal blessing.
SLOVAKIAN SURPRISE
Jesus Army member, Tallie,
stood at a coach station,
waiting for some Slovakian
Christian friends to arrive
from Slovakia. While she
waited she sang ‘Jesus, we
are here for You’ – in English,
Farsi and Slovakian.
‘I’m Iranian, and speak
Farsi – and I’ve got a Slovakian
friend with me!’
said a nearby listener.
His Slovakian friend
said that he was waiting
for some Slovakian people
to arrive, and Tallie said,
“So are we”, and told him
about the Slovakians she
knew who had found faith
in Jesus. He was totally
amazed when they all arrived
at the station and
he saw how many of them
there were.
