YOUNG JESUS Army member, Phil, 16, was carrying a flag he'd made himself for a Jesus march in Northampton recently. A drunken passer-by took exception to Phil's confident Christianity, grabbed the flag and began beating Phil with it.

Phil was knocked to the ground as his attacker continued to hit him with the flag on his chest and face. He gasped, "I forgive you". His assailant stood up, hesitated and then ran off - still holding the flag.
