PRISONER PRAYS: ANGEL APPEARS
A remarkable account of revival power in a British jail
"You ought really to stop dealing drugs now you are a Christian," said prisoner Graham to another 'lifer' recently.
Graham, a Jesus Army member, is one of many inmates serving life sentences for murder who have recently found faith in Jesus in British jails.
"No way! How am I supposed to get any money then!" the other prisoner replied.
Later that day, Graham prayed briefly for the other prisoner. The cells had been locked for the night and it was relatively quiet in the 30 minutes before the prison officers went off duty. As their cells were next to each other, Graham banged on the wall to attract the other prisoner's attention, and shouted that he was praying for him.
The next morning, Graham was called to the prison office. There he saw a pile of plastic packets of white powder lying on the table. "Those drugs are nothing to do with me!" he exclaimed.
"No, we know that," said an officer. "The prisoner in the cell next to yours called for us. He said you had been praying for him last night, and that he couldn't sleep - he said he saw a 'white ghost' standing at the end of his bed all night. He called for us first thing in the morning, and handed over these drugs, and asked to go into the detox unit to get off heroin. We thought you'd like to know."
