Christian Community: living together and sharing "all things in common" like the first
Christians. What an awesome way to live!
I moved to Norwich when I was 17. I lived with my parents, but I wanted something more. There had to be more - and living in community is the way I express that desire to live more fully for God. It meant giving up a few things, but it was so worth it.
Community life attracted me because I loved the way that a community lifestyle means spending all our time together, sharing hearts, lives and everything else - including the washing up! People are out to serve others, not themselves.
Living in community is also a calling from God - it's not a cushy way out. You still have troubles and things you have to work through. You have to work with your weaknesses and be open to receive people's direction and help - because they do it out of love. It's a way for you to grow and become more spiritually mature.
It may be tough sometimes, but in community we are united with each other, we love each other, so we genuinely want to make it work. I believe Christian community is an awesome way to really be a part of God's family; it's a way of living sold-out for Jesus and giving Him your everything. I love community; I'm passionate about it - I can't imagine living any other way.
