400 new churches planted 1 month after seminar

Only one month after a church planting seminar led by a central Indian trainer, 400 new Christian groups have been started in Assam. The Bodo people group, of which only few were Christians, responded particularly positively. They are also involved in a conflict with the Indian government. One of the evangelistic methods used by the Indian church planters is morning prayer walks, in which they pray specifically for neighbourhoods until prayer groups can be started there, generally followed by new churches.

Kidneys healed

Romy Zimmermann, who works in an old people's home in Switzerland, reports: "It all started about six months ago - back pains, headaches and a gradual loss of energy joined my daily routine. I tried a vitamin treatment and took it a bit easier, thinking I would get over it. Wrong! The pain became so intense that I was unable to get out of bed one morning. Working in an old people's home, I know how a 90-year-old gets out of bed, and that was how I felt. I visited my doctor, and the medical machinery started rolling: blood tests every day, ultrasound, urine tests, x-rays and all the rest. The test results worsened, the pain increased daily, particularly in my left kidney. Early July 2003 was unforgettable: a sea of pain. On July 6th, I went to my doctor to tell him that I couldn't stand it any more. He told me to go to the hospital. When I arrived home to prepare, the telephone rang. Walter Bernhard, a local intercessor, asked me if I wanted to come for prayer. I arrived at 5pm, and was healed at 6pm! Everyone who has suffered pain for some time knows what it's like when the pain stops - I was as happy as a little child! It was clear that I no longer needed to go to hospital. On Monday morning, I put a note in my doctor's letter box 'No hospital, I am healthy. I'll come by later'. You can imagine how my doctor reacted when I told him of my miraculous healing. He asked whether he could perform some tests. 'Of course,' I told him. His astonishment only grew when all the tests showed completely normal results. God is good!"

Jesus helps Gipsies

"Jesus helps the Gipsies" was the title of a recent report in the 'Diario de Cordoba' newspaper. "The world should hear that the Evangelical churches have taught the Gipsies to read and brought them out of the twilight zone of drug abuse, with far more success that all political programmes and official attempts at social rehabilitation. I know many who were slaves of heroin, unable to stop killing each other. Today, these same people are transformed, truly transformed people," writes the reporter.

50,000 saved during Nigerian evangelist's visit

"116,000 attended evangelistic events in only three cities, some 50,000 of which gave their lives to Jesus over a period of 10 days. Thousands were healed!" reports Helmut Diefenbach of the German mission agency FCJG. "The team from HELP International Mongolia, along with ten Mongolian churches, invited Charles Ndifon to hold evangelistic and healing meetings in Mongolia's three largest cities. Wherever they went, they saw the same picture: halls and stadia filled to overflowing! Hundreds, later even thousands of people had to be stopped from entering the events. But none were turned away - loudspeakers were quickly set up and ministry teams sent outside. The people were so hungry that they weren't discouraged by the circumstances. God showed that he saves, heals and delivers the same today as ever before. Some of the conversions had dramatic consequences: the head of a radio station was saved while interviewing Ndifon. She then invited him to preach live for an hour on air. While he preached, called people to salvation and prayed for them, the station's telephones were constantly ringing with people calling to tell of their salvation and healing - with the result that the station's staff of twenty was saved. As soon as news spread that Ndifon was in Ulaan Baatar, the capital, the sick came to the HELP centre; those who were too sick to come on their own were carried and laid on matresses in the driveway. They left after prayer, healed. After the meetings, piles of crutches and empty wheelchairs were taken out of the stadia."
