Healings and salvation

Rainer Killus, head of Open Doors in Germany, reports of a series of healings which he witnessed during recent events in Germany, regularly causing people to give their lives to Jesus. Pastor Hermann Schwarz from Markdorf, where Killus recently preached, says "we had seen no new believers in the last two years. In the first service in which Killus preached, 20 people came forward at the altar call, and 10 gave their lives to Jesus for the first time." Some extracts from Killus' report:

Retired priest's arm healed

In Langenegg, Austria, a retired priest's arm was healed. The priest had lost much use of his arm following an accident, and doctors had attempted to at least stabilise it with a number of metal plates. Following the healing, the priest decided to give his life to Jesus.

Healing in the Evangelical State Church

"In April, in an Evangelical State Church in Radolfzell, an almost deaf woman came to me: ' I didn't really understand the sermon - my ears...'. I had to shout in order to make myself understood. After a short prayer, we could speak normally! Around ten of the thirty in the congregation were healed!"

Healed of Leukaemia

"In Rosenheim, Bavaria, we prayed for a 46-year-old man in the hospital. We didn't know what he was suffering from, except that he was in a coma. Yesterday, I heard the details from the pastor: he had Leukaemia. The doctors had tried to cure him with chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, which his body rejected. His liver and gall bladder were seriously damaged, and his kidneys had failed, so his legs were swollen with water. We prayed on Saturday. On Sunday, he was still unconscious. On Monday, the doctors discovered that his kidneys were working normally again. The progress was then rapid, ending in a complete healing. The doctors and nurses call it a miracle!"

Switzerland

Good response to mass mailing

Verein Abraham's Werner Woiwode reports that the mass mailing of the evangelistic brochure 'Jesus Christ in Switzerland' was a success. Every household in the nation received the brochure between 11th and 14th September. In response, hundreds of Jesus Film videos and New Testaments have been ordered. In parallel, many Christians advertised Alpha courses in newspapers. The project is financed by donations.

Mongolia

Healing instead of amputation

Chimdee let his thoughts wander for a moment, and paid for it with two fingers caught in the milling machine. He was taken to hospital, where the doctors said "amputate!". Chimdee, an ex-convict, is an apprentice carpenter with the Christian aid agency HELP in Mongolia. The surgeon could not find any bones in the lumps of flesh which had been Chimdee's fingers, so scheduled the amputation for the following day. An X-ray was made before the operation, which showed the bones in his fingers to be complete and undamaged! "Unbelievable," the doctor murmured. What he did not know: Chimdee and the other HELP staff had prayed for a miracle - two new fingers. Today, six weeks later, Chimdee still has his fingers, which are completely healed and fully mobile.

Kenya

The gods drowned

"'If you are really gods, you will float to the surface when I throw you into the sea. If you cannot help, then drown - I don't want to see you again.' Rajan Dinesh Shah was at the end of her strength and her faith in her Hindu gods," report Thomas and Mirjam Hieber, German missionaries in Kenya working among Indian immigrants. Rajan and her younger sister had grown up with religious rituals; they had to wake at 3am every day to wash the household idols. The family had hundreds of golden and silver idols in their house, all of which had to be dressed, decorated, fed and worshipped before the family's shop opened at 9am. But Rajan and her family were not at all blessed; they were beaten and robbed, and she became so ill that she was unable to move. Fourteen times in hospital and eleven operations drove her deeper into her religion. She finally became a medium, sacrificed birds and animals to the demons, and practised black magic. One day, doubt crept into her mind. "Can you really help? You just sit in my house, taking up space, are deaf and dumb and unable to answer my prayers. I've had enough of you." She put the gods to the test, throwing them into the sea. They all 'drowned'. A friend told her about 'Ishu-Prabhu' - Jesus Christ. Rajan discovered that Jesus is the only true God during a visit to a Christian church, where Jesus delivered her from all dark powers. Since then, she has devoted her life to God, and helps other Hindus to find God. Her entire family are now Christians.
